Condition of second WHV in AUS

To be eligible for a second Working Holiday visa, applicants must complete at least three months of seasonal work in regional Australia. For a list of postcodes classified as regional Australia.

General requirements

You must:

  • have completed three months of seasonal work in regional Australia* while on your first Working Holiday visa (there is no requirement to do further seasonal work on the second visa)
  • be aged between 18 and 30 years (inclusive) at the time of applying**
  • be applying no more than 12 months before you intend to travel to Australia, if applying from outside Australia
  • not have any dependant children (either at the time of applying or when you hold the visa)
  • be outside Australia when the visa is granted, if applying from outside Australia
  • be in Australia when the visa is granted, if applying from in Australia
  • hold a passport for a country or region participating with Australia in the Working Holiday Maker programme
The table below lists all postcodes classified as part of regional Australia for seasonal work.
To meet the three month seasonal work requirement for a second Working Holiday visa, work must be completed in an area whose postcode is included in the list.
